Someone once told me to lead with a quote or anecdote. This has been used now and again to mixed results.
I spent many of my formative years trying to act cool. In reality, most alone time was spent playing Roller Coaster Tycoon, creating PowerPoint decks for family vacations and building/destroying my dad's model railway set. I did once spend a summer traveling the country living in a box, known in some circles as a Scion xB.
Undoubtedly, cool was never a word those around me would use to describe me. Many other descriptors have been used some good, some bad.

Moderately aloof, thoroughly sarcastic.
Overuses pithy one-liners and the phrase cool cool in conversations.
